Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Private Elementary

ISLC is proud to be recognized as a 4-star school by the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), a testament to our commitment to providing the highest quality education. Additionally, our elementary school, which serves kindergarten through second grade (K-2), is officially licensed by the Department of Education, ensuring that we meet and exceed the standards required for academic excellence.

Personalized Attention and Support

Our elementary school may be small, but it packs a punch! With a student-teacher ratio of 1:8, we ensure personalized attention for every child. Additionally, we provide the support of a part-time school counselor. Our kindergarten class averages 15 students with two teachers, the first grade averages eight students with one teacher, and the second grade averages six students with one teacher.

Holistic Learning Experiences

We believe in providing a holistic learning experience that extends beyond the classroom, encompassing field trips and various outdoor learning experiences. It is our pleasure and responsibility to cater to the needs of each unique group of students. Our field trips are diverse, ranging from tethered balloon rides at the balloon races, visits to pumpkin patches across northern Nevada, trips to the Wilbur D. May Museum, the Discovery Museum, the Van Gogh Experience, the V&T Railroad and Virginia City tours, swim lessons, martial arts classes, Baby Animal Days, Costco, Spanish Springs Library, and cross-generational experiences.

Creative and Community Engagement

Moreover, our elementary students are encouraged to participate in multiple plays and performances throughout the school year, learn a variety of musical instruments, engage in community service projects, participate in the egg drop activity (with the help of the Sparks Fire Department), celebrate holidays to create lasting memories, and maintain close communication with their families (who have our cell phone numbers for any questions that may arise).

Curriculum and Future Endeavors

Our curriculum is diverse and tailored to each grade level, aligning with the state standards for each grade. We are also excited to explore foreign language options for all grade levels in the 23-24 school year. At ISLC, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
